The IPL mega auction is set to take place on February 12 and 13 and things couldn't get more exciting. Only for the second time since the tournament's inception and the first in this decade.

With so many superstars of international cricket available in the auction market, today, we'll have a look at the top 10 players to look for in the mega auction.

1) Faf Du Plessis (South Africa)

Chennai Super Kings' star since he's been a part of the team, Faf du Plessis was very unfortunate not to be retained. Moeen Ali had an impact that wasn't as effective as the Proteas player but Moeen's age and effectiveness with the bat and bowl helped him earn a retention spot.

However, there are still rumors about Chennai Super Kings going for him in the mega auction but they will have a tough time as some other team would surely target him too. What do you think?

2) Shreyas Iyer (India)

Comebacks are tough but quick comebacks are even tougher. Shreyas Iyer was ruled out of the first phase of Ipl 2021 due to a shoulder injury. However, COVID-19 helped him as the IPL was rescheduled to resume from September and Iyer ensured that he plays a part in it.

It's tough to say that Iyer was at his best but he wasn't far. The fact that he returned from a serious injury but still managed to pick up his form quickly, there will be multiple teams who will be looking forward to bringing stability in their middle-order with Iyer's consistency and leadership skills.

3) David Warner (Australia)

After redeeming himself in Australia's glorious ICC Men's T20 World Cup conquest in the same year when he was not shown trust by his owners, David Warner will be back for good.

His form in the Ashes was good and it seems that the Australian is back in his rhythm. Warner is a very influential batsman at the top and can dictate an innings at any stage of the game. It'll be interesting to see which team goes for him.

4) Eoin Morgan (England)

With so much uncertainty about whether the English players would feature in the IPL or not, Morgan is one player who was already off the chart for some sides.

The player hasn't been at his best for the last couple of seasons and it'll be interesting to see which teams opt for the former KKR skipper if he opts to play the tournament.

5) Shahrukh Khan (India)

A player who has great potential, Shahrukh has already caught a lot of attention with his performances in the IPL. On top of that, Shahrukh had an amazing domestic season which makes him an interesting pick for any IPL side.

He can bat at no.4, 5, even 6, his slogging skills are wonderful, and he can anchor if needed. Surely, a player to watch out for.

6) Lungi Ngidi (South Africa)

Ngidi had a mixed term with Chennai Super Kings, with some performances good, while some were not worth remembering. However, his recent form shows how good an asset he can be for any franchise he picks.

Ngidi has a great pace and can bowl at great lengths. A lot of teams would be eyeing him as teams would want to invest in players who can be long-term.

7) Ishan Kishan (India)

Ishan Kishan is another player who would make an impact irrespective of the franchise he joins. However, if the talk in the air are to be believed, Mumbai Indians are likely to get him again.

An explosive left-handed batsman, who has developed the skill to bat anywhere in the top and middle-order, Kishan would be a valuable asset to any franchise that commits to the youngster.

8) Rahul Chahar (India)

It began with his cousin making all the noise, but suddenly Rahul Chahar entered into the scene. The fact that Mumbai Indians as a team had better performances before CSK's win in 2021, Rahul Chahar showed that he was no less.

The leg spinner picked crucial wickets, bowled economical overs, and changed the fate of quite a few games. Shoutout to Deepak Chahar too, who is as good as him but more effective.

Ruturaj Gaikwad's exceptional 2021 season meant that Deepak Chahar wouldn't be retained and thus, both the Chahar brothers would be a great buy for teams who plan well.

9) Devdutt Padikkal (India)

The opener had a lot of great performances in Virat Kohli's RCB but the franchise still felt that they didn't need to retain him. His value could be an issue and with RCB retaining only three players, they might use the money in the bank to cash in this young prospect instead of paying a fixed amount as a fourth option in the retention spots.

Padikkal's physicality and his aggression with the bat is his biggest strength and his calm and composed attitude makes him a batsman with great balance. He will be attracting many franchises as well.

10) Kuldeep Yadav (India)

A talented youngster who faced a lot of heat, it was quite evident that Kuldeep Yadav won't be retained. But can a team identify and make the most of his potential?

He's another player who has always been a lethal bowler when guided by MS Dhoni so will Dhoni prove to the world once again that Kuldeep Yadav stands among the most effective Indian spinners at this time?

It'll be interesting to watch. Less than a month away, the mega auction is set to be an event with its own aura, an interesting one to watch. Stay tuned with Cricwizz for more updates.
