Royal Challengers Bangalore are one of the most famous teams in IPL, filled with prominent personalities. They are also the second most expensive teams after Mumbai Indians in IPL. 

The club was bought by Vijay Mallya, who paid US$111.6 million, making them the second-highest bid during the IPL 2008 auction, next only to Reliance Industries’ bid of US$111.9 million for the Mumbai Indians. 

The team has been runners-up on three occasions between 2009 and 2016. They hold the record of highest and lowest team total in IPL history- 263/5 and 49, respectively.

Royal Challengers Bangalore had a salary purse of 57 crores during the IPL 2022 auction. The team used 33 crores to retain their most valuable players, Virat Kohli for 15 Crores, Glenn Maxwell for 11 Crores, and Mohammed Siraj for 7 crores in the auction. 

And overall, they picked 19 players ahead of IPL 2022; some of the key players were Faf du Plessis, Harsh Patel, Wanindu Hasaranga. Harsh Patel and Wanindu Hasaranga were the costliest players who were picked at 10.75 crores in the auction.
