Cricket has always been considered to be a team sport and there is no denying the statement, however, on several occasions, we have seen exceptions. Especially when we are talking about the shortest format where even a single over can change the fate of a match, we can only imagine how much a player can bring about.

The Indian Premier League 2022 is around the corner and in our build-up to the grand event, Cricwizz today brings the deadly combos to watch out for in the 15th edition of the global T20 league. With several stars set to feature and two teams set to make their debut, there is no shortage of the duos.

Without further adieu, let's dive into the listicle.

1) Ravindra Jadeja and Moeen Ali (CSK)

Two of the greatest all-rounders for their respective national sides, Ravindra Jadeja has been in the form of his life and as per the latest rankings, the 33-year old now ranks on top of the ICC Men's Test all-rounders rankings. He comes with great firepower with the bat and a valuable off-spinner who can guide the middle-overs. The Englishman is a brutal force with the bat too. Although he is not as efficient with the ball as he was before, he has drastically improved as a slogger and his combination with Jadeja is likely to cause chaos to the opponents.

2) David Warner and Rishabh Pant (Delhi Capitals)

Two flamboyant left-handers who are still finding the meaning of fear. The Aussie opener David Warner and Delhi Capitals' skipper Rishabh Pant could prove fatal to even the best of the bowling attacks in the world. Although Warner will have to occupy the crease longer in order to share it with Pant, given the history of Warner in IPL, we do believe we can watch this pair quite often. The pair has close to 8000 runs in the IPL and a whopping 313 sixes between them. Destruction!!!! Beware, bowlers!!!

3) KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock (Lucknow Super Giants)

The Lucknow Super Giants do not look the best side on paper as we feel there is a slight imbalance on their side. However, they have for sure hit one note right by picking up KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock as their openers. They are loaded with experience and given their captaincy role at the International level, these two will definitely put a huge price on their wickets. The new joiners could be heavily dependent on this opening pair and we are not surprised as the rest of the squad is relatively inexperienced. The pair have over 5000 runs between them and Rahul's average of 47 in IPL does show his dominance in this league.

4) Tim David and Ishan Kishan (Mumbai Indians)

Two budding talents, both aggressive shot makers but level-headed at the same time. Mumbai Indians at the auction ensured they got hold of the Singaporean at any cost as he is someone who fills the No.5 slot perfectly. David has been a regular face in the T20 domestic circuit for some time now and if he does manage to utilize the opportunity, he could be well in contention to be part of the Australian squad.

Ishan Kishan on the other hand stands to be the most expensive player in the IPL 2022 auction, little more is required to express how much faith the MI has in the youngster. The duo may not shatter records and occupy the crease for long but their cameos will be more than enough to beat the opponent's hands down.

5) Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis (RCB)

The best for the last, what can we say about this deadly duo? While one has four centuries to his name and is the highest run-getter in the league, the latter has close to 3000 runs in the tournament and strikes at an incredible rate of 131. Faf was mighty close to winning the orange cap last season, which he lost to his fellow teammate Ruturaj Gaikwad by a narrow margin of 2 runs.

The former Proteas skipper has been kept away from the international scene due to his dispute with the board and ever since he has paid complete attention to the shortest format and his added responsibility as the skipper of one of the most followed teams in the league is expected to get the best out of the 36-year old. When these two open the innings, the bowlers will have to be on their toes from ball one as if they allow them to settle down, they might as well carry their bat.
