The 15th edition of IPL is here, and many talented players are ready to showcase their talent and make their name in this biggest competition. In past IPLs, we have witnessed many talented players, having made their name, and now the 2022 IPL promises to churn out new such players, and we are excited to see who will influence this season.

We now take a look at the top five IPL young talents who will make it big this season.

#1 Raj Bawa (Punjab Kings)

Raj Bawa came to the limelight when he registered the highest score in the U19 World Cup, making him the only Indian to do so. And in no time, Punjab Kings snapped him for Rs 2 crores.

In the U19 World Cup, he scored 162* (108) vs Uganda breaking the previous record held by Shikar Dhawan 155. Not only this, but he also bagged five-fors in the U19 World Cup final, as this made him the only Indian player to achieve this landmark.

He will now feature for the Punjab Kings, and expectations are high as he will play the role of a finisher due to his power-hitting abilities. And on top of that, T20 games suit him; he can even bowl 3-4 overs. Hence, he will be the player to watch out for.

#2 Devon Conway (Chennai Super Kings)

Devon Conway will play his first-ever IPL, the left-handed batsman who enjoys hitting at the top order at limited over cricket and is best suited for Chennai Super Kings, who only have one left-handed batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Devon Conway has already made his status in New Zealand and is one of those players who can adapt to any cricket format. He has represented New Zealand in 7 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 20 T20Is and smashed 767, 225, and 602 runs.

The 30-year-old has etched his name in New Zealand cricket folklore with 3 centuries, 3 fifties, 1 double ton in the most extended format. And besides that, he also made 1 century and 1 fifty in One-Day Internationals, whereas he scored 4 fifties in T20Is.

And we believe he is a good fit for Chennai Super Kings, and now he will his name in IPL.

#3 Rovman Powell (Delhi Capitals)

Rovamn Powell has been an old name in IPL who failed to make his impact on this big stage. Kolkata first bought him up but he didn’t get to play a single game and was later sold by the team. He remained unsold for a year in the IPL auction.

But what followed was a redemption period for Powell. He smashed a hundred in his maiden T20 for West Indies in a five-match series against England. He scored 105 runs in 53 balls and guided his country to a 20-run victory on January 26, 2022.

This ignited his hopes of playing in IPL again as he managed to convince the Delhi Capitals that he would be an excellent option for them. Powell has a great record in the T20 format, having scored 1771 runs at a strike rate of 132.26, alongside eking out 21 wickets. And hence, he will be a player to watch out for this season.

#4 Odean Smith (Punjab Kings)

Oden Smith made headlines when he played against India in the second ODI, which convinced Punjab Kings to snap him for Rs six crores. Oden Smith is an all-rounder player, but he prefers bowling over batting.

The Right-handed bowler has played 33 T20 games and accumulated 36 wickets. His batting strike rate is 130.61 and is the perfect choice for Punjab Kings.

#5 Rassie Van der Dussen (Rajasthan Royals)

The South African batsman is looking to stamp his authority in IPL this season after being sold out to Rajasthan Royals for Rs 20 lakhs. Rassie Van der Dussen has dominated South African cricket over the past few years.

The top-order batter is a clean hitter of the T20 format and averages 38 in both T20 and T20Is. Besides being consistent with runs, he also enjoys an impressive strike rate of over 130, which is a great deal for a team like Rajasthan Royals, and he also fits in the team.
