Like the Proteas skipper said during the press conference of the first ODI, they will bounce back strongly to level the series, the hosts just did that and one could not ask for a better script as they went on to thrash the Bangladesh side by a thumping margin of 7 wickets.

It was rather uncharacteristic of the Johannesburg pitch as it offered great assistance to the pacers and credit goes to Kagiso Rabada, who managed to pick 5 wickets for 39 runs to bundle out the visitors for a below-par total of 193 runs.

"I thought the wicket, this is not what we expected - you can have pace and bounce, that's a different case but uneven that's very hard to describe"

- Tamim Iqbal

The Proteas batting was led by Quinton de Kock, who made his return to the side after missing the opening ODI. His partnership of 86 runs along with opener Jannelan Malan ensured they were off to a flier and a clinical fifty by Kyle Verreynne put all hopes of Bangladesh to rest.

The teams will be back to Centurion to play the decider and  Bangladesh will be feeling a bit more confident as they managed to get the better of the Proteas in the first ODI which was held at this venue.

South Africa seemed to have got into the groove, however, with the players of the caliber of Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, and Liton Das in their arsenal, we are definitely in for an intriguing decider.

Team News

They took a bold decision to leave out Andile Phehlukwayo, Aiden Markram, and Marco Jansen, it did work in their favor as they seem to have found the right combination to tackle the situation.

Star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has decided to stay back for the decider despite health concerns in his family. His presence means that the visitors are likely to feature the same playing Xl that featured in the last encounter.

Probable Playing Xl

South Africa (RSA): Janneman Malan, Quinton de Kock (wk), Temba Bavuma (c), Kyle Verreynne, Rassie van der Dussen, David Miller, Wayne Parnell, Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj, Lungi Ngidi, Tabraiz Shamsi

Bangladesh (BAN): Tamim Iqbal (c), Liton Das, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Yasir Ali, Mahmudullah, Afif Hossain, Mehidy Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman

Must-Picks

South African opener Quinton de Kock continued his great touch in limited-overs and he is expected to be amongst the runs once again. Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is another player who could bolster the fantasy points.

Bangladeshi skipper Tamim Iqbal and South African opener Janneman Malan are our other two Must-picks for the 3rd ODI between South Africa and Bangladesh.

Prediction

After the 1st ODI one would have said Bangladesh are definitely the better side but the Proteas were quick to prove that wrong. Bangladesh look to be too dependent on their batting, while the hosts seem to be a bit more balanced side.

The proceedings would not be that easy like in the 2nd ODI as Bangladesh have good firepower in their batting. If they can once again manage to breach the 300 mark, the Proteas might once again fail to chase it down. However, we expect Temba Bavuma and Co. to restrict the visitors.

Cricwizz predicts South Africa to win the 3rd ODI and win the series, 2-1.
