India have sealed the three match series, 2-0. However, both the matches went down to the wire and there was no shortage of drama whatsoever. It was by the finest of margins the second string Indian side managed to get the better of the Windies at their backyard.

The first encounter saw the Men in Blue win the match by a narrow margin of 3 runs, while the second encounter was heart-breaking for the Windies as they had Indians railing at 79 for the loss of 3 wickets but all-rounder Axar Patel shut down all the hopes of the home side by scoring 64 off just 34 balls.

West Indies seem to have learnt from their mistakes after their humiliating 3-0 defeat against Bangladesh. The players are making cautious starts to their innings and seldom in this series we saw the Windies throwing away their wicket. It definitely has brought about a lot of positive change to the side as we saw both the matches were closely fought.

The pitch has been a batting paradise. The teams managed to get over the 300-run mark on all the occasions they have played so far in this series and it is likely that the dead rubber will also witness a high scoring encounter between the sides and do not be surprised if the the home team comes out all guns blazing as they now have nothing to lose.

The Indians after their win on Sunday marked their 12th consecutive series win beating their record of 11 against Pakistan. They also hold a ODI win streak of 7 matches against the Windies, can India hand over another white-wash to the depleted Windies side or will Nicholas Pooran and team gear up and manage to restore some pride?

Team News

For the West Indies, it would be too harsh to drop anyone as the players have been collectively contributing. They are likely to retain the same playing combination as of the second ODI.

The Indians on the other hand would be tempted to replace the struggling Suryakumar Yadav with Ishan Kishan. It would not be a bad decision to give the youngster a chance considering the relevance of the match. Pacer Avesh Khan was expensive and if Arshdeep Singh is deemed fit, he is likely to replace the 25-year old.

Probable playing Xl

West Indies (WI): Shai Hope (wk), Kyle Mayers, Shamarh Brooks, Brandon King, Nicholas Pooran (c), Rovman Powell, Akeal Hosein, Romario Shepherd, Alzarri Joseph, Jayden Seales, Hayden Walsh

India (IND): Shikhar Dhawan (c), Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav/Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson (wk), Deepak Hooda, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, Avesh Khan/Arshdeep Singh

Must- picks

The Indian skipper Shikhar Dhawan missed his ton by three runs in the opening match of the series. While the 2nd ODI was rather mediocre for the southpaw, he will be looking to make full utilization of his role in the upcoming encounter. Windies prodigy Shai Hope continues to impress and he is someone to watch out for not just in this encounter but the future as well.

Indian all-rounder Deepak Hooda and West Indies all-rounder Romario Shepherd our two other must-picks for the 3rd ODI between West Indies and India.

Prediction

There is no doubt that this match too will be closely encountered as we saw the trend in the series so far. However, given the Indians firepower in the batting and experienced bowling attack, the Indians are likely to once again upset the Men in Maroon. Since this is the third match played at this venue in the last six days, the pitch is expected to have slowed a bit but nothing that can impact the batters is expected.

Cricwizz predicts India to win the 3rd ODI and win the series, 3-0.
