Kolkata will want to bounce back after their first tournament defeat, as they play Punjab Kings on Friday night.
Kolkata Knight riders went down chasing the target against Royal Challengers Bangalore in a low-scoring thriller in the last over. While Punjab Kings will play their second match as they defeated RCB in their last game after successfully chasing the target and will be upbeat to extend their winning run.

Punjab routed KKR by five wickets as KKR scored 165 runs, with Venkatesh Iyer scoring 67 off 47 balls. However, it was not enough for the KKR as Punjab Kings chased down the runs in 19.3 overs with KL Rahul displaying a top-notch performance scoring 65 off 55 balls, and Sharukh Khan partnering with KL Rahul, who smashed a critical 22 not out off nine balls.

Kolkata bowlers showed their bowling prowess and restricted Punjab kings to 123 runs, dismissing the entire PBKS team. Kolkata had an easy target to pursue, and they did it in an extraordinary fashion. Finished off the match in just 16 overs with Rahul Tripathi 41 off 32 balls and Eoin Morgan 47 off 40 balls.
3) Punjab Kings won by 8 wickets
Mohammed Shami was the star of the game, who took three wickets, allowing only 35 runs in his four-over spell as KKR smashed a decent target of 149 runs in 20 overs. Mandeep Singh from Punjab Kings helped his team to a victory as he scored 60 runs off 56 balls not out, while Chris Gayle was a helping hand as well, who scored 51 runs off 29 balls as Punjab Kings completed the chase of 149 runs.

An intense match between KKR and PBKS ended in a dramatic fashion with KKR chalking up 164 runs in 20 overs which looked like a not-so-difficult chase, but Punjab Kings failed to secure the chase of 164 runs as KKR beat them by just two runs. Thanks to excellent bowling by Prasidh Krishna, who took three wickets, and Sunil Narine, who dismissed two batters.
5) Kolkata Knight Riders won by 7 wickets
Punjab Kings got off to a great start in the first innings as they gave Kolkata a harrowing chase, with Sam Curran scoring 55 runs off 24 balls not out. However, it seemed like Kolkata would have a hard time chasing the target, but Shubman Gill had other ides who scored 65 runs off 49 balls and inspired his team to a successful 185 chase, as KKR beat PBKS by seven wickets.
