Until now all matches have been contested but the team batting second have won in spite of all odds against them. In normal situations Delhi, Punjab and Gujarat should have lost but due to the dew factor, short boundaries and flat pitch made it possible for anyone to hit sixes at will and chase mammoth totals with ease.

The 6th match of the Indian Premier League 2022 is set to feature the Royal Challengers Bangalore who are yet to get off the mark and the Kolkata Knight Riders, who produced a dominating victory against the defending champions Chennai Super Kings.

RCB will be kicking themselves after facing a defeat despite registering a target of over 200. Their skipper Faf du Plessis and the management would definitely be thinking of ways to strengthen their bowling and that would even mean at the cost of some players. KKR would not be looking to make any changes and a win here could see them jump to the top of the table.

Can Faf du Plessis register his first win after taking over as the skipper? Or will Shreyas Iyer continue his merry run with the bat and captaincy?

Team News

Royal Challengers will remain more or less the same. They will include Maxwell, when he becomes available. The bowling of Hasranga and Siraj was below par and this accounted for their loss. All-rounder Shahbaz should bowl more. We suggest only one change and that is Akash Deep should be replaced by Siddharth Kaul.

Kolkata Knight Riders on the other end won their match with ease against CSK. However, they used only three overseas players as they were waiting for Cummins. However, Umesh bowled very well. We do not see any changes in the combinations.

Probable Playing Xl

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB): Faf du Plessis (c), Virat Kohli, Anuj Rawat, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Sherfane Rutherford, Shahbaz Ahmed, Wanindu Hasaranga, David Willey, Harshal Patel, Akash Deep/Siddharth Kaul, Mohammed Siraj

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR): Venkatesh Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer (c), Nitish Rana, Sam Billings, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Sheldon Jackson (wk), Umesh Yadav, Shivam Mavi, Varun Chakaravarthy

Must-Picks

RCB skipper Faf du Plessis is the current orange cap holder with 88 runs to his name. The veteran is expected to be amongst the runs once again. Kolkata's opener Venkatesh Iyer is another must-pick as the conditions suit him well.

Last season's purple cap winner Harshal Patel continued his exceptional form. He along with the KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer are our two Must-Picks for the 6th match of the Indian Premier League 2022.

Prediction

If KKR chases, they are bound to win. We do not see Faf or Virat attacking Narine or Varun. Similarly, Dinesh will not be that effective. However if RCB chases then they have 75% chance to win as Virat and company are great chasers. We had given a team rating of 25 to KKR and 20 to RCB. This explains the odds in favor of KKR to win.
