The next round of games in the IPL 2021  will see the Royal Challengers Bangalore take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai on Wednesday. The Bangalore franchise registered their first points with a victory over Mumbai Indians, while Sunrisers ended up on the losing side in their encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Last year, we saw these two teams go head to head three times, twice in the league and once in the eliminator. With them sharing the spoils winning a match each in the league, and SRH coming out on top in the eliminator.

Yuzvendra Chahal was the star man as RCB took the first game between the two, while exceptional performances by Sandeep Sharma and T Natrajan helped the Sunrisers win the return leg. In the Playoffs, the Hyderabad franchise left no stones unturned with exceptional bowling performances leaving them a low score to chase.

The Bangalore franchise led by Virat Kohli will be eager to win their second match on the trot and consolidate their position in the table, while David Warner and co will be looking forward to registering their first win in IPL 2021.

Weather Conditions

Ideal conditions for cricket with mostly clear skies are expected throughout the course of the day. With temperatures expected to be hovering around 27- 32 degrees celsius and humidity at its peak is likely to touch the 67% mark.

Pitch

The strip in Chennai has slightly been on the slower side but the spinners are yet to maximize the assistance of the wicket. The previous encounters saw the teams find it difficult to chase down the target as in the case of RCB, where they managed to come on top in the very last ball. We expect a match aggregate of around the 340 mark. The slow bowlers are expected to play a key role in this encounter.

Team News

Sunrisers Hyderabad looks to have a clean bill of health with only Kane Williamson lacking match fitness. But the management would see no reason to change their previous XI with players filling every needed role and much suited to the Chennai pitch. The only cause of concern will be the failures of their opening pair and will be expecting them to break the funk in the coming match.

Devdutt Padikkal has returned to RCB camp after his quarantine period, after contracting the covid virus. The management will be happy with the availability of the young Indian batsman who had impressed greatly last season. But they would be wary of including him in the team too soon after such an ordeal.

Probable Playing XI

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH): David Warner (c), Jonny Bairstow, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Manish Pandey, Vijay Shankar, Abdul Samad, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Sandeep Sharma

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB): Virat Kohli (c), Rajat Patidar/Devdutt Padikkal, AB de Villiers (wk), Glenn Maxwell, Daniel Christian, Washington Sundar, Kyle Jamieson, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj, Shahbaz Ahmed, Yuzvendra Chahal

Must-Picks

With sublime form since the India-England International white ball series, Jonny Bairstow has continued his hot form into the IPL. Another player who hasn’t skipped a beat is RCB batsman, AB de Villers, alongside Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell who should be other important picks.
