56 league matches, 3 play- offs matches, 4 super- overs, new finds, thrillers. Yes, the Indian Premier League has offered the fans an unforgettable tournament and something which will be treasured throughout the history of the sport. It is now time for the decider and after all the thrilling encounters we have the finals now all set to take place between the 4 times champions Mumbai Indians and the Delhi Capitals, who are playing their first ever finals.
The Grand Final between the two sides is scheduled to take place at the Dubai International on Tuesday and this will also mark the 200th match of the Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma.
The Delhi Capitals after finishing second on the table made sure they had two chances to make it to the big day. But the defending champions made easy work of them in the Qualifier 1 and it was Delhi who made use of their last lifeline by showcasing a brilliant performance against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The teams have faced each other three times in this season and the Mumbai Indians have managed to dominate them all the three times. The latest encounter being the Qualifier 1, which the Men in Blue won by a comfortable margin of 57 runs. The DC were completely outplayed in the last three head to head meetings and the Shreyas Iyer led team will have to come up with something extraordinary to get past the mighty Mumbai side.
Can the Mumbai Indians defend their IPL title and make it 5 in their cabinet? Or will it be the Delhi Capitals who spring a surprise by claiming their maiden IPL title?

A clear and sunny day is expected and the finals will be played with no threats of spoil- sport. The temperatures though are a bit on the higher side as compared to the last couple of few weeks. The maximum being 32 degree and the minimum in the 23- 24 degree range. The humidity is anticipated to float around the 58 percent mark.
The Qualifier 1 showed us the pitch did have something for the batsmen as some deliveries came on to bat very well, not taking anything away from the brilliant batting of the MI players. Said that, the pitch has definitely slowed down and with the due coming into play later in the evening, the batting first should at least be looking at a score of 180 to fancy their chances. The spinners will once again play a vital role in this all-important event.
Mumbai Indians have not reported any injuries and in what seems to be obvious, the MI will be more than happy to feature the same magical Xl that have been producing wonderful results for them in this season.
Delhi Capitals on the other side came up with an excellent decision of promoting the Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis top of the order and it did work well in the favor. The decision seems to have come at the right time and they will be hoping it clicks again.
With the team producing a clinical win over the Sunrisers, the management will not be looking to fiddle with the combination and the same Xl that took the field on Sunday is most probably expected to be seen again.
