Mumbai Indians are all set to lock horns with Kings XI Punjab in their fourth game of IPL 2020. The two teams have won one out of their three matches and will be eager to win this game.

KXIP batting line-up has been explosive, with both KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal being the only players to score centuries so far. MI, on the other hand, is facing issues with their opening pair and bowling unit as both of them have disappointed on two occasions already.

The two teams lost their last game in a thrilling encounter. KXIP put up a huge total of 223 runs, however, it was not enough as Rajasthan Royals chased down the highest total in the IPL history.

Mumbai, on the other hand, were losing against Royal Challengers Bangalore, however, the phenomenal knock of Ishan Kishan (99 runs) and Kieron Pollard’s half-century took the game to Super Over. RCB making no other mistake clinched two points and are sitting in the fourth position in the table.

Both teams have to improve their bowling in this game as their batting line-up is filled with star batsmen. The opening pair of the two sides will have a lot of responsibility as they can’t completely depend on their middle-order.

The two teams have faced each other on 24 occasions, out of which MI has won the majority of 13 matches while KXIP has tasted victory in 11 matches.

Weather Report

The weather is expected to be clear and hot. The playing conditions will get better after the sun sets and the temperature will be around 29 degrees Celsius from a high of 38 degrees Celsius. There is no possibility of rain.

Pitch

The pitch in Abu Dhabi is sluggish, which means the spinners will get help from the surface. The highest score on this pitch has been 195 runs scored by Mumbai Indians. In other games, the average score has been around 155 to 165 runs. If the team batting first scores more than 170 runs, then it will be tough for the chasing team to win the match.

Team News

There are no injury concerns in the two sides and both are expected to play the same playing XI as their previous match. Chris Gayle hasn’t featured for Kings XI Punjab so far and looking at the current batting form, it is unlikely that the Universe Boss will play in this match.

Mumbai Indians will stick with Ishan Kishan as his 99 runs inning helped them in taking the one-sided game to the Super Over. The KXIP bowlers, on the other hand, have been sloppy in the death overs, however, the bowling unit has been successful in picking wickets. So, it looks like the Punjab franchise will stick with the same bowlers.
