The 2019 runners up Chennai Super Kings will lock horns with the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The clash will mark the 21st match of this season. CSK started their campaign with a stylish win over the defending champions Mumbai Indians but the momentum was completely against them then after, as they ended up on the losing side on three occasions.

The Old Daddies though showed why they are one of the best teams with a stunning comeback against the KXIP, winning the match by 10 wickets while chasing a target of 178. The camp would be delighted as Shane Watson was seen in his prime form along with the Faf du Plessis who has been in the form of his life.

Kolkata Knight Riders on the other side have won two of the four matches played but look distorted as a side as the key players have failed to make a mark. A huge concern for the KKR management this season would be the form of their captain Dinesh Karthick, who has registered only one double digit score in this season.

KKR did look threatening in the chase of 228 against the Delhi Capitals when Eoin Morgan and Rahul Tripathi went on an all out attack. But the huge total meant too many and eventually ended up on the losing side by 18 runs.

Is the momentum the three times champions CSK were looking for? Or will KKR crush the hopes of the Men in Yellow?

Weather Report

The weather is excellent for cricket as clear skies are expected throughout. The temperatures are expected to hover around the 32-34 degree range along with the high humidity means the players will have to sweat it out once again.

Pitch

The Abu Dhabi pitch is on the slower side when compared to the pitch in Dubai and Sharjah and for that reason the spinners could have a say. Given that the average score batting first at this ground has been around the 160-170 mark. Any score above that could prove a challenging one for the chasing team.

Team News

Kolkata Knight Riders have not reported any injuries and are expected to play the same Xl that almost chased down the enormous target put by Delhi Capitals.

Chennai Super Kings as we have seen in the past like to stick around with the same players throughout the season. Given that the team showcased a dominant performance against the KXlP to bounce back in the tournament they are likely expected to feature the same Xl unless and until a forced change is required.
