A dominating victory by team India against Sri Lanka in the 1st Test to register their fifth largest victory in terms of runs. The Test which was all over the headlines for being Virat Kohli's 100th Test will now be remembered as Jadeja's Test as it was the all-rounder who single-handedly lashed the depleted Lankans.
The second and final Test of the series is set to take place at the M.Chinnaswamy starting this Saturday and it will mark India's just 3rd pink ball encounter, while for the Lankans it will be their fourth.
Sri Lanka are comfortably placed in 3rd position in the WTC points table, however, one more heavy loss could see them slide down to the 5th position, while India have an opportunity to overtake the Proteas.

Can the Lankans show some form of resistance against the mighty Indian side? Or will Rohit Sharma continue his incredible win streak as the skipper?

Weather conditions and pitch
The Indian players were on song and there were literally no mistakes to point out in the opening encounter. The only exception was that of the 32-year old all-rounder Jayant Yadav, who failed to deliver with bat and despite bowling 17 overs, he failed to pick a single wicket in what seemed a paradise for the spinners. With Axar Patel included in the squad and his jaw dropping stats with the pink ball, he is likely to replace Yadav for the 2nd Test.
Sri Lanka made a blunder by playing only one specialist spinner and it did backfire them. Given the venue and condition, the visitors are likely to go with the same combination as the previous Test. However, the injury of Lahiru Kumara means that Dushmantha Chameera could feature in the line-up.

India's star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is in the form of his life ever since making his comeback to the side after the injury. The 33-year old along with the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma are two players who are likely to bolster the fantasy line-up.
The Lankan skipper Dimuth Karunaratne could be someone who could score big when set in. The other must-pick for this clash is another Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin, who has made it a habit to break records every time he plays.

Captain and Vice-captain Picks
The hosts are the heavy favorites after the innings victory in the opening encounter. The likelihood of Sri Lanka making a comeback to level the series is unlikely. However, the Sri Lankan team do have some gritty batsmen who can hold on to a draw if they manage to take their time in the middle to set in. If India bats first then the chances of Sri Lanka are likely to diminish. We do not see the Sri Lankan bowlers to be threatening enough to run through the Indian line-up.
