Today is the final day of the Caribbean Premier League 2021 edition as Saint Lucia Kings lock horns with St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the final and we are guaranteed a new title winner after eight editions.

It is safe to say that both teams overcame the final favorites and earned a spot in an attempt to win the CPL 2021 title. Starting with Saint Lucia Kings, they scored a mammoth total of 204 and backed it with great bowling, with Mark Deyal scoring a monstrous 78 and David Wiese ripping apart Kieron Pollard and co. with his bowling (5/39).

The defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders came very close but unfortunately, didn't have wickets to make it through to the final. In the second semi-final, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots won the toss and elected to bowl.

Considering they were prepared to chase, they did a decent job restricting Guyana Amazon Warriors for 178, courtesy of a quickfire 45 from Shimron Hetmyer.

When St Kitts and Nevis Patriots came out to bat, a lot of hopes were tied with how Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis rose to the occasion. Both Gayle and Lewis started brilliantly, building a 76-run partnership that was broken in the 8th over when Gayle departed.

However, the Patriots skipper and T20 veteran Dwayne Bravo came on to bat to settle things down and avoid a shock after such a great start.

On the other hand, Evin Lewis continued with his style and finished the game unbeaten, scoring 77 off just 39 balls as St Kitts and Nevis Patriots booked their ticket to the finale, winning the match comfortably by seven wickets.

Who will take the trophy? The home side St Kitts and Nevis Patriots or the Saint Lucia Kings who prevailed over the defending champions?

Weather Conditions

Showers are anticipated and everyone will be praying to the rain gods to rest for another day. The temperature is anticipated to be around 29 to 33 degrees celsius.

Pitch Report

Just like it has been for most of the tournament, the batsman will have lots to play for as the pitch is still supportive of high scores. Batting first would be the priority. However, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots proved yesterday that if planned and executed well, chasing isn't difficult either. Overall a good batting strip and we could be in for a high-scoring thriller.

Teams News

Both the teams will look to field the same squad. Neither team would want to disrupt the winning momentum, especially when the pitch and the conditions remain the same.

While Kings will be hoping their in-form batsman Faf du Plessis is back, Evin Lewis will have to be ready with a response for the Patriots. We are anticipating an enthralling contest between the two.

Probable Playing XI

Saint Lucia Kings (SLK): Andre Fletcher (C) (wk), Rahkeem Cornwall/ Faf du Plessis, Mark Deyal, Roston Chase, Tim David, Kadeem Alleyne, David Wiese, Keemo Paul, Wahab Riaz, Alzarri Joseph, Jeavor Royal

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (SNP): Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Joshua Da Silva (wk), Sherfane Rutherford, Fabian Allen, Dwayne Bravo (c), Dominic Drakes, Naseem Shah, Paul van Meekeren, Jon-Russ Jaggesar, Fawad Ahmed.

Must Picks

Evin Lewis, Chris Gayle, and David Wiese are must-picks and priority picks, considering their performances in the semis.

Andre Fletcher and Tim David will be influential in their roles as well and thus, are suggested to be roped in the fantasy 11.

Key Stats

#Evin Lewis from St Kitts and Nevis Patriots is 30 runs away from 450 runs in the competition and 80 away from 500 runs in CPL 2021. He is also the highest run-scorer in the competition with 420 runs. Which milestone will he achieve tonight? The battle will be between Lewis and Chase for the top-scorer as Chase finds himself just 17 runs short of Lewis.

#DC Drakes is five wickets away from 20 wickets in CPL 2021. If he manages to do so, he will also become the highest wicket-taker of this season.
