With less than a month for the grand finale of the Big Bash League 2020, we have the 34th match of the BBL 2020 all set to take place between the Perth Scorchers and Sydney Thunder at the Perth Stadium, this Saturday.

With more than 30 matches played, the points table has been getting tighter with every match. The Scorchers though have a lot of work ahead of them as they currently find themselves in the 7th position with 13 points. Though, they will be looking at the bright side, being just 5 points behind the third placed Hurricanes. The Scorchers have also played only 7 games which does give them a two match cushion over the other teams.

Thunders on the other side find themselves at the top of the table after tasting defeat only on two occasions so far in this tournament. A win here for them in this match will see them ahead of the Sixers by 4 points and stopping them from reaching the play-offs from there looks preposterous.

The last time the sides met, it was the Thunders who came on top by 7 wickets. Can the Scorchers seek redemption? And in the process climb to the fourth spot on the table?

Match Venue: Perth Stadium, Perth

Weather Report

The conditions are ideal for cricket as clear skies are expected throughout the course of the day. The temperature is expected to be hovering in the 33- 27 degree Celsius range and the humidity at the peak is likely to touch the 36 percent mark.

Pitch

The pitch in Perth is known to be friendly to the batsman and that has been justified in the last few games. Though, it has been seen that the chasing teams have been finding it difficult and have not managed to even come close to the target. The initial movement and bounce is expected to favor the bowlers. The team winning the toss should be looking to bat first.

Team News

Scorchers finally seem to have the momentum in their favor. The idea of sending Liam Livingstone has seemed to work as his partnership with Jason Roy looks threatening. They would be happy with the way their skipper-Mitchell Marsh performed in the last game and they do look a totally different side from what they were at the beginning of the season.

The table toppers on the other side seem to have a very good very bench strength as well and that has now become a good headache for the management. Arjun Nair, who came in as a replacement for Olivier Davies made full use of the opportunity and delivered in all the three departments. He is likely to retain his spot.
