With the Big Bash League 2020 almost coming to the business end, the points table has been getting tighter and the teams are giving it all to seal their spot in the play-offs. The 44th match of the BBL 2020 is set to take place between resurgent Perth Scorchers and the Brisbane Heat at the Docklands Stadium in Melbourne, this Tuesday.

The teams are placed fourth and fifth respectively with a gap of one point and a win here for either of the teams will see them jump to the second spot in the table. The Scorchers have tasted victory on 5 occasions, so as the Heat. The winner of the encounter is almost certain to finish in the top four.

With almost most of the teams playing each other at least once this season already, this is one of the rare incidences where the teams will be facing each other for the first time this season. The teams are well-nigh on the head to head count. The Scorchers have a one-match lead over the Heat, winning 7 out of the 13 meetings.

Scorchers after a five-match winning streak was made to taste defeat by the Sixers on Saturday. The Heat on the other side will come into the match on the back of a clinical 5-wicket win over the bottom dwellers Melbourne Renegades.

Can Ashton Turner and Co. get back to their winning ways? Or will it the be mighty Chris Lynn who leads his side to yet another win?

Weather Report

The weather possesses no threat to the game and we are likely to have a beautiful day of cricket. The temperature is expected to be hovering in the 18-14 degree Celsius and the Humidity at the peak is likely to touch the 50 percent mark.

Pitch

Docklands Stadium or the latest is known as Marvel Stadium was last used to play an International match 14 years. This will be the first match of the BBL 2020 to be held at this venue and we could expect the pitch to be a batsman-friendly one and the team batting first should be looking to set a target around the 180-190 whereabouts.

Team News

The Perth Scorchers is one of the few teams this season who have been dominant at their home ground and those five wins in a row have definitely boosted the spirit of the team. Though they could not continue the form against the Sixers away from home, they still put forward a solid performance. They do seem to have a well balanced playing Xl and looks likely to feature the same playing Xl.

Mitchell Marsh is still recovering from his injury and is unlikely to make it to the playing Xl for at least a week.

Heat on the other side is having a roller-coaster tournament. Despite them not having to take the field without their skipper Chris Lynn for four matches they still have managed to claim 20 points. They would know the importance of this encounter as a loss here will see them slip to 7th place. Heat come into this match on the back of a win and there looks no reason for them to fiddle with the combination.
