After an exciting weekend, filled with thrillers in the Big Bash League 2020 (BBL 2020), we have the Adelaide Strikers set to lock horns with the Melbourne Stars at the Adelaide Oval, this Monday.

The tournament has completed 35 matches so far and with just 20 more matches to go in the group stages the points table has been getting tighter with every result. The Strikers though have some room to breathe being placed at 4th with 17 points. Though the position often ends up tricky one and the Strikers will look to climb the ladder in the coming days.

Stars on the other side have slipped to the 7th place owing to poor net-rate and having lost four matches out of 8. They do have the cushion of one game and a win here for them with a bash point could elevate them to the fourth place replacing their opposition Strikers.

The teams will be meeting each other for the first time this season. On the basis of head to head, Alex Carey and Co. hold a one game advantage and Stars will be looking to separate the differences here.

Can Glenn Maxwell and Co. bounce back and replace the Strikers? Or will the Strikers pedal forward?

Weather Report

The conditions are well in favor of cricket as clear skies are expected throughout the course of the game. The temperature is expected to be hovering in the 30-22 degree celsius range and the humidity is likely to touch the 32 percent mark at peak.

Pitch

The pitch is an absolute belter for the batsmen and the bowlers have found nothing in favor of them. The previous match saw close to an aggregate of 360 runs and the same can be expected in this encounter as well. The toss once again is not expected to play a vital role.

Team News

Strikers frontline pacer- Peter Siddle could be sidelined for this match-up as he was struck on the hand. He is likely to be replaced by Daniel Worrall. Other than that the team looks solid and well balanced.

Melbourne Stars have no injury concerns. Said that, they would be concerned with the form of their opener- Andre Fletcher. Given he has been struggling to contribute, he is likely to be replaced by Ben Dunk at the top. In the bowling department, Haris Rauf played his first match of this season but was not given the welcome he was looking for. He would be given one more chance given his International experience and ability to move the ball.
