Pakistan skipper in the 2019 World Cup, Sarfaraz Ahmed, was a target of trolls after he yawned during the high-voltage match against India. Sarfaraz was not only subjected to memes, but was criticised for his lazy disposition, his growing paunch, and choosing to field against India and Pakistan’s poor performance in the World Cup. The continued poor performance of Pakistan saw Sarfaraz lose his captaincy and place in the team.
Virat Kohli’s notebook celebration
During the first T20I against West Indies at Hyderabad, Indian captain Virat Kohli settled scores with Kesrick Williams. Kohli slammed a flicked six off Williams towards long leg before imitating the bowler’s famous notebook celebration, leaving the commentators, fans and players in splits.
Kohli later revealed that Williams has done so in 2019 when the West Indian has dismissed him and it was just his reply.
In the second T20I, Williams had put a finger on his lips when he dismissed Kohli. But eventually, Kohli had the last laugh after guiding India to 2-1 series triumph.
