Mumbai Indians is the most successful franchise in the Indian Premier League, and will surely be looking to strengthen its already strong squad, with a number of new players appearing in the IPL auctions.
This auction will have a lot of variety in players and the role they will have in the teams they are sold to. Mumbai Indians have a strong squad with ‘The Hitman’, Rohit Sharma leading from the front.
Then there are Hardik Pandya, his brother Krunal Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah who probably is the best bowler in the world in almost all formats.
Rahul Chahar, who was a successful inclusion in the squad last season, proved his worth. Lasith Malinga had a strong comeback after managing the season before.
The 4-time champions have a world class coaching squad too. The God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar being the mentor, Zaheer khan as the bowling coach and Mahela Jayawardene are entrusted with taking care of the MI squad.
Considering how massive IPL 2020 will be, there are some very new and renowned players debuting this season. Apart from that, the IPL trade which happens often, has gifted them another strike bowler in Trent Boult, who is capable of causing massive problems.
Even the local boy, Dhawal Kulkarni is back in the MI squad. The youngster Mayank Markande who made the headlines with his bowling was traded to Delhi Capitals and Siddhesh Lad to KKR.
Mumbai Indians have 5 domestic slots and 2 foreign slots remaining. Big names like Yuvraj Singh, Ben Cutting, Evin lewis and Adam Milne have all been released.
MI, out of all the teams, have the least available amount for buying new players. However the squad is powerful enough to challenge anyone.
Last season, they had problems in their middle order batting, which they would want to fix. The top order was solid with both Suryakumar Yadav and Quinton de kock putting up some solid performances. Rohit Sharma had a decent run of games too.
