The auction for the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League is scheduled on 19th December at Kolkata. This will be the first time that the auction would be held in Kolkata.
The franchises will bid for the players which they need for the IPL 2020 squad. Around 971 players have registered for the auction, out of which 258 overseas players.
For the upcoming auction the following seven players have set their base price for 2 crores:

- Josh Hazlewood (Australia)
- Chris Lynn (Australia)
- Mitchell Marsh (Australia)
- Glenn Maxwell (Australia)
- Dale Steyn (South Africa)
- Angelo Mathews (Sri Lanka)
For the upcoming auction these nine players have set their base price for 1.5 crores:
- Robin Uthappa (India)
- Shaun Marsh (Australia)
- Kane Richardson (Australia)
- Eoin Morgan (England)
- Jason Roy (England)
- Chris Woakes (England)
- David Willey (England)
- Chris Morris (South Africa)
- Kyle Abbott (South Africa)
Big names who have opted out from the IPL 2020 Auction
Mitchell Starc, the Australian pacer, has decided to opt out of the Indian Premier League for the second consecutive year. The IPL franchises will have to settle for other bowlers in their squads.
The England cricket team Test captain, Joe Root will also not be available for the auction.
Deadline for the franchises
The BCCI has given time until 5:00 PM IST, Monday, 9th December to all the franchises to submit their shortlist of players. The shortlisted players will make up the final list for the auction.
The IPL Auction 2020 will see a maximum of 73 players going under the hammer on the 19th December, and once again Hugh Edmeades will be the auctioneer.
