This battle will be the one to watch out for and is anticipated to be a cracker.
Babar Azam vs Lasith Malinga
The 2nd ODI ranked batsman had a lot of hopes pinned to him before the World Cup commenced and rightly so as he has been living up to the expectations.
Babar has been consistently scoring heaps of runs and is a go to factor for Pakistan. With an average of 51 in ODIs and s/r of 85, Azam will be the key factor to Pakistan’s batting. The 24 year old has an impressive record against Sri Lanka as well. Azam scored 2 centuries and a half century in the last series against SL.
The youngster is expected to keep up his run against the Lankans, to help his side secure a win.
Lasith Malinga needs no introduction as the old war horse has been lingering around in the world of cricket since 2004. The veteran has 325 wickets in just over 200 ODI matches. With an average of 29 and s/r of 32, Malinga sure is expected to upset the Pakistan batting line-up with his unplayable Yorkers.
