In the 38th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League, Sunrisers Hyderabad will battle it out against Kolkata Knight Riders. Will SRH register their fifth victory, tonight? Well, they might succeed in achieving it because KKR have lost their last four games this season.
The two sides have played eight and nine matches respectively. Hyderabad have won four out of their eight encounters while Kolkata have won four out of their last nine fixtures. With four wins each, SRH are currently sitting in the fifth position. While KKR are in the sixth position with the same amount of points as Hyderabad.
In the last fixture, SRH defeated CSK, who were playing without MS Dhoni for the first time in nine years. KKR, on the other hand, lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore in a chase of 214 runs. The Kolkata franchise did come close to winning but couldn’t succeed and lost by 10 runs.
There have been 16 meetings between these two sides in the past. Kolkata have won a majority of 10 games while the rest of the six games ended in the favor of SRH. Along with most overall wins, KKR have got better of their opponents in Hyderabad as well. In the five fixtures played in Hyderabad, KKR have won three while SRH have won the remaining two.

David Warner vs Sunil Narine
The one name that comes to our mind when someone says consistent performance is of David Warner. The Australian opener has been in scintillating form this season. Warner is leading the chart for most runs in the ongoing IPL season. The SRH opener has scored 450 runs in his eight appearances.
Warner has already registered 5 half-centuries to his name, which is the most by any player in the ongoing IPL. Along with half-centuries, he has also scored a century that has made him the prime contender for winning the Orange Cap.
The bowler on whom the responsibility of getting rid of Warner early is going to be Sunil Narine. The Trinidadian spinner hasn’t been successful with the ball this season. Narine has picked six wickets from seven games with an economy rate of 7.47. These stats aren’t bad, but the spinner has given better performances in the previous seasons, which makes us expect more from him.
Narine has got a good turn so far. However, he has to improve his line and length. Because till now he has just succeeded in troubling the batsman but not getting their wicket. The Trinidadian spinner has taken Warner’s wicket two times in the past seasons, which makes him a lethal weapon against the opener.
Rashid Khan vs Andre Russell
Most of the teams have decided to play the four overs of Rashid Khan carefully and target the other bowlers. The Afghan spinner has picked a lot of wickets in the past seasons, which is the reason why most of the sides are just trying to get over with his spell.
Despite this, Rashid has picked eight wickets in his eight appearances with an economy rate of 5.59. The Afghan spinner always finds the breakthrough for his side and that’s why the pressure of getting Andre Russell out is going to be on his shoulders.
The Jamaican all-rounder is in the roaring form currently. Even after coming 5th down, Russell has scored 377 runs in his 9 appearances so far. The KKR all-rounder has smashed 39 sixes, which is most by any batsman in the ongoing IPL season.
Russell hasn’t spared anybody in the current season. The Jamaican all-rounder smashed Bhuvneshwar Kumar for 23 runs off eight balls, the last time when SRH faced KKR. It doesn’t matter where you bowl him, if it’s in his spot then it will end up out of the stadium.
This is where Rashid is going to play a huge role. The Afghan bowler has a lot of variety and most of them will come in use today. The SRH spinner has to bowl out Russell early. Otherwise, the Jamaican all-rounder will take away the game from Hyderabad’s hand.
