In the first of the tenth-round encounter of IPL 12, Delhi Capitals take on Kings XI Punjab at home. Both teams have ten points in their kitty and the winner will solidify the third position in the table. Presently, Delhi are sitting in the third position while Punjab are just below them in the fourth courtesy of an inferior run-rate.
In the last match, Delhi were thrashed by 40 runs at Feroz Shah Kotla by Mumbai and thus the Capitals would look to come back to winning ways. Punjab, on the other hand, are on a high having been completed the double against Rajasthan after defeating them by 12 runs on Tuesday.

Shreyas Iyer vs Ravichandran Ashwin
Arguably the most consistent batsman for Delhi this season, the skipper has amassed 269 runs in 9 games this season with an average of 29.88. He is one of the pillars of the Delhi batting line-up along with Rishabh Pant and is often seen playing the anchor-man role for his team.
He averages 30.34 in 55 matches after having scored 1487 IPL career runs, all at an S/R of 127.63. With 11 fifties to his name, he also has the highest score of 96 that came in the year 2017. With 5 games still remaining for Delhi, one can expect Shreyas Iyer to break the shackles to help his team qualify for the Qualifiers.
Ravichandran Ashwin needs no introduction to cricket fans. The 2016 ICC Cricketer of the Year has picked up 121 wickets in 134 matches with a decent average of 26.26. With an economy of 6.78, Ashwin is not only a wicket-taking bowler but also is economical as he curbs the flow of runs. Having already picked up 11 wickets with an economy of 7.44 in IPL 12, Ashwin is leading his team as an example.
Kagiso Rabada vs KL Rahul
Already picking up 19 wickets in 9 matches, Rabada averages an astonishing 14.57 in IPL 12. His breath-taking performance in the super over against KKR helped Delhi register their second win of the season. He has 25 IPL career wickets in 15 matches with an average of 18.60. He further has an economy rate of 8.25 and is certainly the go-to bowler for DC skipper, Shreyas Iyer, when in need of wickets.
With 4 half-centuries and 1 century already in IPL 2019, KL Rahul has scored 387 runs in 9 matches this season and has been the batting mainstay for KXIP. Being guaranteed a World Cup spot for India after his heroics against Mumbai, Rahul would try to score more runs to get into the playing XI of the Indian team after Shikhar Dhawan has been seen to be out of form in the last couple of months.
Averaging an impressive 42.16 in his overall IPL career, Rahul has amassed more than 1771 runs in 62 matches with an S/R of 136.65. With 14 fifties and 1 century in IPL, along with having a high-score of 100*, Rahul is the pillar of Punjab’s batting line-up.

The pitch in Feroz Shah Kotla has been spin friendly and very slow. Thus, anything around 150-160 will be very competitive and the team batting second might even find it difficult to chase it. Considering the batting line-up that both the team possesses, one can expect Delhi to prevail as their batting-order are more settled and batsmen at this Delhi pitch will be the deciders for the eventuality of the match.
