After crushing Windies at home, the Men in Blue are set to gain their reputation on Australian soil now. They will begin their campaign with 3 T20Is starting from November 21 at The Gabba, Brisbane. Australia in the past one year, have been ordinary while India are much better on papers this time. It’s going to be an exciting affair between the two. Here’s the prediction:
Home crowd – Australians are always favourites while playing in their den. Their record has been tremendous on home soil and there is no question on the support they’ll get in all the matches. Though they haven’t been up to the mark in T20Is in the past couple of years, the kind of combination they have is out of the box.
Presence of T20 giants – You can’t request for more talent when you have Chris Lynn, Glenn Maxwell and Aaron Finch in the side. This side is full of T20 experts who have shown their power on various occasions. The Men in Yellow have included the likes of Nathan Coulter-Nile, Andrew Tye and Marcus Stoinis as well who have the rich experience of playing against Indian players in the cash-rich league.
Warner, Smith misses out – Australia can’t imagine a team without these two gunners who have always been match-winners for their team. India would like to take advantage of this situation to grab yet another T20I series victory on Australian soil.
Kohli, Rohit charged up – Virat Kohli was rested for the Windies T20I series but will be seen against Australia with his full force. He alongside Rohit Sharma would like to put the Aussie bowlers on the backfoot right from the beginning. Apart from these two blasters, India have the likes of DK, Rishabh Pant, Krunal Pandya, Shreyas Iyer and Shikhar Dhawan as well. So, India are set to play with their full strength in the 1st T20I.
Formidable pace-attack – Bumrah, Bhuvi, Umesh and Khaleel have been given a chance to prove their worth in Australian conditions. All are genuine fast bowlers who can swing the ball as well. On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal will handle the spin-attack as usual.
Absence of Dhoni – Being an integral part of the T20I team from the last 12 years, Dhoni finally hadn’t been named in the squad due to his below average show in the recent past. India may have the likes of Karthik and Pant but the experience of Dhoni was always a big thing for the side. Without any second thought, MSD will be missed this time.
Cricwizz Prediction – As its the first game of the series, India might take a bit time to settle down. Australia could go on to win this match as per our thoughts.
