Zimbabwe once again lost the battle against South Africa after yet another decent bowling performance in the 1st T20I. They have been struggling with the bat so far on this tour with no signs of improvement either. The visitors are once again in a do or die situation with nothing to lose. Here’s the prediction of the game:
Early breakthroughs – Zimbabweans are getting early breakthroughs in every match against Proteas. It’s an unbelievable thing for the team which they could have converted into big victories but unfortunately, due to poor batting performance, the side has lost all the 4 games on this tour.
Big guns failing – The likes of Brendan Taylor and Hamilton Masakadza are not taking the responsibility of scoring runs up the order. In the shortest format of the game, big players need to bat for at least 5 overs to keep the momentum going. This is the last chance for them else, another series loss is on the cards.
Middle-order setting up the base – South Africans might be losing wickets initially but the middle-order has impressed on almost every occasion. The inclusion of Faf Du Plessis is another added advantage for the side.
Duminy might be back – After being rested in the first T20I, the skipper might include JP Duminy to the squad to finish off things in this game only. Duminy was impressive with his captaincy in the ODIs and now would be looking to play freely under the leadership of Du Plessis.
Tahir to miss the 2nd T20I – Imran Tahir surprised everyone with his remarkable figures of 5 for 23 in 4 overs. He bowled with the new ball and removed the top-order with ease. The right-arm leggie might miss the 2nd T20I which would open the gate for Dane Paterson or Robert Frylinck.
Cricwizz Prediction – Its a good chance for Zimbabwe to open their account in this series as the strike bowler Imran Tahir won’t be playing for South Africa.
