The first Test between India and Windies was a one-sided affair which Indian won comfortably by an innings and 272 runs that also happened to be India’s biggest Test victory till date. Now, the next Test is set to be played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Here’s the prediction for the second Test:
Youngsters on fire – Prithvi Shaw would never forget his Test debut as the young gun from Mumbai scored a scintillating ton against the Caribbeans. His remarkable efforts earned him the Man of the Match award. On the other hand, Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav didn’t waste any time in proving their abilities in Test cricket. Pant hammered a brilliant 92 from his willow while Kuldeep picked up his first-ever 5-wicket haul in Test cricket.
Pace batteries giving complete support – Even in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the present pacers are giving their best no matter what the situation is. Mohammad Shami and Umesh Yadav bowled less in the first Test match due to the help spinners were getting in Rajkot, yet they were on the mark whenever they got the chance to bowl.
Couple of players showed promise – Even after Windies’ shocking loss, players like Roston Chase and Kieran Powell showed promise with the bat in the first Test. Chase was effective in the 1st innings while Powell played well in the 2nd innings for their side. As the pitch in Hyderabad expected to be similar to the one created in Rajkot, both these players can play more sensibly this time to score big.
Poor bowling – This bowling attack has been one of the worst-ever for Windies till date. There was no competition in front of Indian batters and the youngsters like Prithvi Shaw was looking hundred per cent comfortable from the beginning itself. They need to do well and bowl in the right areas to get the things come their way.
