Afghanistan’s medium-pacer Shapoor Zadran contributed towards his team’s 3-0 T20I series win over Bangladesh recently. He took 4 wickets at an average of 20.50 in the three-match T20I series.
However, the injury-prone medium-pacer is not part of the Test squad against India for the historic Test.
Since making his T20I debut in 2010, Zadran has played 33 T20Is, bagging 34 wickets.
Zadran, however, is looking to play for IPL and other T20 leagues such as Big Bash League.
Zadran has earlier played for Khulna Royal Bengals in the Bangladesh Premier League.
With Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi faring well in IPL, the door has opened for other Afghan players to take part in future Indian T20 Leagues.
And Zadran is no exception. In fact, Zadran has specified his desire to play for a particular IPL team and that is none other than Mumbai Indians who too wear a blue colour jersey similar to Afghanistan’s.
Zadran told The Indian Express recently, “Every cricketer wants to play in the big leagues across the world and I have the same desire. I am confident of playing in the IPL and the Big Bash during the upcoming season.”
Asked the team he wants to play for in IPL, Zadran said, “I would love to play for Mumbai Indians as they are my favourite team.”
Zadran would be praying Nita Ambani and Rohit Sharma is listening to this.
