Sunrisers Hyderabad will take on Chennai Super Kings in Qualifier 1 in IPL 2018 at Mumbai on Tuesday. SRH are coming off three straight losses and that have opened a window of speculations in Hyderabad squad. It has definitely made Sunrisers Hyderabad iron out few weaknesses ahead of the all-important match against CSK in Qualifier 1 in IPL 2018. Their main weakness is the under-performance of all-rounders such as Shakib Al Hasan and Yusuf Pathan. With a final berth at stake, should SRH give a chance to their reserve all-rounder Mohammad Nabi in playing XI in Qualifier 1 in IPL 2018?
SRH have the best bowling resources in IPL 2018, defending four low totals the tournament. However, their bowling attack has come under pressure in the last three games, leaking runs plenty.
SRH failed to defend total of 170 and above in the last two games and conceded 218/6 in the clash against RCB. SRH bowling attack has been taken to task in the last three games.
Apart from Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson and too some extent Manish Pandey, the rest of SRH batsmen have struggled to score runs. The middle-order, especially, has failed to finish the innings in a flourish.
And among the SRH weak link is Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan who has failed with the bat and ball in the last three games.
Shakib has managed just one wicket and conceded 106 runs and scored just 18 runs in 3 matches. Overall, Shakib has scored just 176 runs and taken 13 wickets in 14 matches.
Shakib has failed to deliver on the initial promise he showed during the early stage of the tournament.
With the tournament moving into play-offs and SRH coming off three straight losses, SRH should go for a change in the playing XI and opt for Mohammad Nabi in place of Shakib Al Hasan.
Mohammad Nabi too can open the bowling for SRH and restrict the opposition from scoring freely. As CSK openers Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu would go for the kill, they can fall to the slow and clever bowling of Nabi. The Afghanistan all-rounder can come back and bowl in the death overs as well.
Besides, Nabi is a terrific hitter of the ball. He can give the innings the flourish it has missed in the last few games. Nabi should be the ideal choice to replace an out-of-form Shakib in the crucial Qualifier 1 clash against CSK.
