11th edition of IPL got of to a great start. Batsmen like Chris Gayle, KL Rahul, AB de Villers, MS Dhoni, Andre Russell and Dwayne Bravo played some of the best knocks of IPL. But, there are players who were shopped for a high price but failed to prove their worth. Notwithstanding, these players are big flops in the previous two weeks.
So, here are the big zeroes of IPL 2018 till date.
Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Ben Stokes has signed for INR 12 crore but the English all-rounder failed to prove his worth in the last three matches. In the last three matches, he scored 48 runs and took 1 wicket. Failure of the best all-rounder of contemporary cricket is a big concern for Royals. Stokes’ failure means INR 12 crore is a full waste.
Hobart Hurricanes’ opening batsman D’Arcy Short was signed by Rajasthan Royals. But, the southpaw failed to prove his worth in the last three matches. The prolific left-hander is yet to fire for Royals. Short is a talented batsman but failed to prove his worth in the previous three matches. Like Stokes, he is also a star cricketer but yet to prove play his natural cricket in IPL.
Suresh Raina is a vital cog of CSK. But, the southpaw failed to prove his worth in the previous three matches. Raina played a key role in CSK’s IPL wins in 2010 and 2011. But, in IPL 2018 he is a big failure. CSK management kept trust on Raina even though he is not in good form.
Former KKR batsman Manish Pandey is playing for SRH in IPL 2018. However, the right-hand batsman just scored 11 runs in the last three matches. The top order batsman of SRH needs to rectify his problem and come back as an improved batsman in IPL 2018. In the auction, he was bought by SRH for INR 11 crore. However, he is a big flop. It will be interesting to see how he performs in the upcoming matches of IPL 2018.
This paceman of Rajasthan Royals was very impressive in IPL 2017 but failed to justify his price tag INR 11 crore in the IPL 2018 auction. In the last three matches, Unadkat took two wickets. His failure in the last three matches is a big concern for Royals squad.
