Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore would surely be on your list when it comes to 2 of the super-squads of the 2018 IPL. So far, both the teams are unable to provide the performances according to their name. MI lost all their battles so far while RCB have won just one out of three. On one hand, where Mumbai Indians would like to finish their losing streak, RCB on the other would want to take another 2 points. Let’s take a look at the strengths and weaknesses of both the squads:
Like almost every year, MI started on a lower note with 3 loses off their first 3 games. All the games went down to the last over where Rohit Sharma’s men were unlucky. Now, a match against RCB won’t be easy at all especially after their terrific batting against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday that went in a losing cause. Here are the strengths:
Lewis back in touch – Evin Lewis was out of form when IPL started but played a remarkable innings against Delhi Daredevils last Saturday. Though MI lost that battle, Lewis form is an advantage for the team. He can outclass any bowler on his day so MI fans must be expecting him to do some carnage against RCB.
Wankhede factor – Wankhede is lucky for Mumbai Indians but in this year’s IPL even Wankhede pitch is going against their home team. Still, on a flat deck with Rohit & Lewis in the squad, MI are capable of scoring above 200 and can even chase any target.
Bowling department – They have a fantastic bowling line-up but still lost all their games while bowling second. Rohit & Co. have to look into this matter and resolve things accordingly otherwise another loss or two from here can really make things tough for the Hitman.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Fans must be praying this season for their Red & Black heroes to win the title but their team is still in search of a winning momentum. They have won just 1 game out of 3 and would be looking to thrash Mumbai Indians at their den Wankhede. let’s take a look at their strengths:
Kohli back in form – Virat Kohli, after his first two failures, finally find his form back against Rajasthan Royals. He was aggressive during his batting but couldn’t take his team across the winning rope. If he can fire at Wankhede alongside another player like ABD, then MI would be on the verge to lose their 4th in a row.
Washington’s all-round skills – Washington Sundar is a great find to the Indian cricket! He did a fantastic job against Rising Pune Supergiant and then bought by RCB in this season. He has been a regular part of the squad and skipper Kohli would be highly dependent on him in the upcoming matches.
Opening combination – They haven’t been able to go big with their opening combo so far. The team would want McCullum and De Kock to convert their good starts into big ones. Wankhede deck is a flat one and will suit McCullum, De Kock and AB De Villiers.
Cricwizz Prediction – Very tough call but Mumbai Indians are having an edge over the RCBians. Vote for your team:
