It’s all set. IPL 2018 has arrived and the first match will be between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday, April 7. It’s going to be two months of action-packed cricketainment. Cricwizz has analysed each of the eight squads and comes up with prediction for every awards in IPL 2018.
CSK have a good consistency rate in reaching the play-offs in eight IPL seasons. They will start favourites when they start their IPL 2018 campaign. They have banked on experience to take them all the way in IPL 2018 and it is most likely that they will reach the play-offs and from there it will be their performance that will take them through. We bet big on CSK to win the title this time around as Dhoni has a lot to prove as skipper.
We believe it can be Sunrisers Hyderabad as they have a strong all-round strength. Although they will be without the services of David Warner, they have an able leader in Kane Williamson to take through to the final. They have all their bases covered and should end up as one of the finalists. But against CSK, they will be probably end up as second best.
We bet on Dwayne Bravo as he has done it before twice in last 10 IPL seasons. He will just beat Bhuvneshwar Kumar to the top of highest wicket-takers’ list in IPL 2018.
We believe it will be the tried and tested Ajinkya Rahane to top the run-getter’s list. He will be leading Rajasthan Royals and will be motivated to take them to play-offs with his batting exploits.
Man of the series
It will be an all-rounder and it can be Ben Stokes once again after his 2017 IPL heroics. Stokes would do well in all departments to bag the player of the series award.
Shubman Gill, the Under-19 World Cup hero, is likely to open the batting for KKR and do some justice to his talent and walk away with the ‘Emerging player of the Year’ award.
Fair Play award
It will be Rajasthan Royals who have Ajinkya Rahane as leader. Royals will play hard and fair and expect the same from his teammates.
