Well! As the title says, we have come up with some of the finest ODI innings till date and later you’ll be having a chance to vote for your favourite innings. Here we are with some of the greatest ODI innings:
Sir Vivian Richards (189* against England)
Without any second doubt, Sir Viv Richards is one of the greatest cricketers of all time. He started his career when only Test cricket was a part of game but he changed his game effortlessly whenever it comes to ODI cricket.
One of his greatest ODI innings came against England in 1984 when he played a brutal knock of 189* at Manchester. No body except him played the English bowlers well but the legend was out of the box that day. He helped his side set a target of 273 for England, which the hosts were unable to chase and lost by 104 runs.
Sir Vivian Richards was awarded Man of the Match for his exceptional effort. He even took 2 wickets and showed class with his bowling. Here’s the video:
Sachin Tendulkar (134 against Australia)
After a scintillating knock of 143 in the previous game against Australia in which Tendulkar helped his side reach the finals on 22nd April 1998, India were set to play the Aussies again and this time in the mega finale on 24th April 1998.
It was also Sachin Tendulkar’s birthday and the fans were hoping for another Sachin special. Guess what!! Their dream come true as the Master played yet another magnificent knock of 134 in the final and India won the game and the series comfortably.

Sanath Jayasuriya (189 against India)
Sharjah has always been an iconic stadium stadium for the cricket fans. We have witnessed many special innings from our favourites at this stadium including Sanath Jayasuriya’s explosive 189 in the year 2000.
Jayasuriya was at another level that day and played a knock of his life including 21 fours and 4 sixes. It was a triangular series final which SL won with ease by 245 runs, sending India back on just 54 runs. The loss was disappointing for the Indian fans but Sri Lankan fans were delighted by this series victory. Here is the glimpse of the video:
Herschelle Gibbs (175 against Australia)
This innings from Gibbs took place in one of the finest ODI games in the history of cricket. Yes! We are talking about the 432-438 match that was won by by the chokers South Africa, thanks to Herschelle Gibbs’ innings of 175.
After putting 434 runs on the board, it was expected that Australia were going to win with a big margin but the hosts had some other plans. They started off well with some ferocious batting from Smith and Gibbs and ended the game in their favour. Mark Boucher did the rest of the things at last and Africans won the series on high note. Kapil Dev (175 against Zimbabwe)

1983 World Cup victory was not possible without this innings from the legend Kapil Dev. India were struggling in the semi-final 9/4 when Kapil Dev entered the ground. Nobody had expected this kind of innings from the champion but he played like a tiger and make India victorious in that game.
India eventually went on to win the 1983 World Cup final as well against West Indies, which was another lucky game. The whole nation was on their feet to cheer them up and the day became unforgettable.
Sachin Tendulkar (200* against South Africa)
Would you ever thought that a double century is possible in the history of ODI cricket? No I guess! Well! That’s when the God came and scored a magnificent double ton in 2010.
Its a fact that Sachin Tendulkar is the only one who deserved the first-ever double century in ODIs. His innings was a pure class and he did every justice to that innings. Tendulkar played against a quality South African attack and smashed every bowler in almost every over. India comfortably won that game and he was awarded Man of the Match for his special innings.
Just after this innings, the trend started and then Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, Martin Guptil and Chris Gayle joined the list.
