The Indian version of the franchise-based T20 league is set for kick on April 7. Since 2008, when the IPL was unveiled to a wide fan base, the league has witnessed many stars performers. These players have taken cricketing world by surprise in a season and failed to live up to the expectations in another.

Here we have picked up five players who once played a scintillating season but never managed enjoy success in following seasons. .
This Right-arm batsman has played four seasons for IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab. During his sojourn in IPL, Valthaty left everyone surprise in 2011 season when he slammed 463 runs at an average of 35.61. He played 14 matches in that season. Apart from registering a hundred he scored two fifties in that season.
However, after that year he failed to justify his ability in the following seasons. In 2012 and 2013 IPL his total accumulation was 36 runs.
He never played IPL after 2013 season.
The southpaw was one of the rising stars in IPL cricket. During his association with Mumbai Indians, he played some of the swashbuckling innings. In 2010 IPL, he amassed 419 runs at an average of 29.92. He played 16 matches in that season. However, in the following season when he joined RCB he failed to display his gutsy form.
At one point of his Career Tiwary was regarded as one of the promising stars of Indian cricket. Now, he has been struggling to get back to form.
This Indian paceman has been one of the most consistent pace bowlers in IPL history. Since 2008 IPL he has taken 90 wickets in 82 matches. His best season was 2009 when he picked up 23 wickets in 16 matches.
In the following seasons, he has also taken 64 wickets. However, in IPL 2016, he failed to continue his wicket-taking spree because of his erratic fitness.
This Australian paceman has played three seasons for Chennai Super Kings. He was a talented pace man. During his stint with CSK he taken 37 wickets. However, this sensational fast bowler was released from the team due to national duty. After IPL 2012, Bolinger never comeback to IPL.
He still ply his trade in BBL but IPL franchises didn’t show interest on him.
He was one of the vital cogs for Mumbai Indians till 2013 IPL. During his stint with Mumbai Indians Patel has taken 71 wickets. His best season with Mumbai Indians was 2011 when he picked up 22 wickets. However, in 2014 IPL he was released from the team and went unsold. In 2016 IPL, he was bought by Gujarat Lions for two seasons.
