So far, the performance of Delhi Daredevils have not been up to the mark in the IPL. They played some good cricket in the initial 2-3 seasons but were unable to steady themselves when Gambhir and Sehwag left the team. This time the local boy Gambhir is back in the squad, which can prove to be a great chance for them to get that much-awaited trophy to their den. However, they will miss certain players who played some crucial role in the past. Let’s have a look:
The Australian fast bowler has impressed many in the last couple of years. He was a regular part of the DD squad in the last IPL but was picked up by Mumbai Indians this time. Gautam Gambhir & Co. are surely going to miss this Australia speedstar in this year’s IPL.
Zaheer Khan was the captain of Delhi Daredevils in the last season. He played a decent part as a captain and also help the likes of Mohammad Shami and Pat Cummins. His presence was an advantage for the Delhi Daredevils and the franchise will miss him for sure.
Hard-hitting batsman Corey Anderson was a part of Delhi Daredevils in the 2017 IPL but remained unsold this time. It was a complete shocker for the IPL fans but many players like him were not even considered. DD had a solid hitter in the form of Anderson, which they are all set to miss in this season.
Nair was a crucial part of DD last season but his solidity took him to his neighbouring team Kings XI Punjab. He was sold to KXIP for a whopping 5.60 Cr after his base price of just Rs 50 Lakhs. If Delhi Daredevils failed to do things in the middle-order, they might regret then for not going for Nair at the auction.
