Indian veteran Ashish Nehra is calling time on his 18-year-old international career. He will play his last international match on November 1 against New Zealand in the first T20I, if selected in the playing XI.
There was a lot of speculations on Nehra’s retirement when he was not selected for the first two T20Is against Australia after selectors drafted him in the T20I squad. Nehra finally confirmed the retirement news on Wednesday.
Nehra is the only few surviving international cricketers who made their debut in 1990s. He had formed a lethal combination with another left-arm pacer Zaheer Khan during his prime. Nehra was part of 2011 World Cup winning campaign. He was also part of the 2003 World Cup team that lost the final to Australia.
