IPL 10 is all set to begin in a few days. Manish Pandey was the first Indian cricketer to score an IPL century. Playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Manish cracked 114* against Deccan Chargers at Centurion in 2009 IPL. RCB won that match by 12 runs.
Manish’s 114* was the eight century in IPL. The first seven centuries in IPL was by foreign cricketers. It took 56th IPL match for first Indian cricketer to score a ton in this T20 event. And that too it came on a foreign soil in South Africa.
However, Yusuf Pathan was the first Indian to score an IPL ton on Indian soil. Playing for Rajasthan Royals, Yusuf cracked 100 against Mumbai Indians at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai in 2010 IPL. Mumbai Indians won the match by 4 runs.
Brendon McCullum of Kolkata Knight Riders had cracked the first century in IPL. He made 158* against RCB in the first match of 2008 IPL.
