India won the Dharamsala Test by 8 wickets. India were set a target of 106 and they chased it down in 23.5 overs. India started Day 4 at 19/0. Murali Vijay was the first to depart as Pat Cummins induced an edge off the opener. Vijay fell for 8.
Cheteshwar Pujara, who has been in terrific form in this series, fell for a five-ball duck. Pujara went for a suicidal run and was run-out by Glenn Maxwell. This was Pujara’s first duck at home in 50 Test innings. He has two ducks outside India.
However, Ajinkya Rahane and KL Rahul saw India home with 8 wickets to spare. India won the Test and the series 2-1. India won the series after losing the first Test at Pune.
This is just the fourth time that India have won a series after losing the first Test. The other three instances came against England in 1972-73, against Australia 2000-2001 and Sri Lanka in 2015.
