During his knock of 55, Warner became the fastest Australian to score a Test fifty. Warner reached his fifty off 23 balls. Overall, Warner became the second fastest to score a Test fifty. The list is headed by Misbah-ul-Haq of Pakistan who had scored a 21-ball fifty against Australia at Abu Dhabi in 2014-15.
Before Warner, Bruce Yardley has scored the fastest fifty by an Australian. Yardley has scored a fifty off 29 balls against West Indies at Bridgetown in 1977-78.
