2016 is the year of cricketer’s biopics. We already know about the upcoming biopics of Mohammad Azharuddin and MS Dhoni, now it is time to add another one in the list – a film on the cricketing journey of Sachin Tendulkar. The movie is named, ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ and the teaser will be released on April 14th.
Mumbai-based production company 200 Not Out will be making the film and it will be directed by James Erskine, a London-based award-winning writer and director. It is being claimed, apart from Sachin’s cricketing journey, the film will also reveal a few aspects of his life which have never been heard of or seen before.
The work on the biopic begun last year and it is being shot in five counties. The last day of the shoot took place in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park and according to producer Ravi Bhagchandka, it was an emotional moment for the cast and crew. The master blaster, himself was present there. As soon as Sachin reached there, he went to the temple that he used to visit before going to his coach Ramakant Achrekar’s net, reported CricketCountry.
Meanwhile, the production house is also in touch with cricket boards across the world to access rare video footage of Sachin’s career. From his Test debut against Pakistan in 1989 till his last match against West Indies in 2013 – the entire length of Sachin’s career will be covered in the movie. In fact, it is being learnt that Sachin himself will be a part of his biopic.
