Oman defeated Ireland by two wickets in the first round, group ‘A’ match of the 2016 World T20. This was the first time that Oman has beaten Ireland in T20Is. In two T20Is against Oman, Ireland has won one and lost one.

The win over Ireland was Oman’s second win in four T20Is in 2016. They have earlier beaten Hong Kong in the Asia Cup.
KJ O’Brien of Ireland took two wickets for 25 in the loss to Oman. With these two wickets, he becomes the highest wicket-taker for Ireland in T20Is with 45 wickets in 49 T20Is.
