Bangladesh named an unchanged squad, from the one that last played South Africa, to take on the Australians in the first Test to be played at Chittagong from October 9.
Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam has also been included after recovering from a bout of jaundice.
A few days ago, Cricket Australia (CA) had delayed the Australian team’s departure for the tour citing ‘security concerns’.
CA CEO James Sutherland had labelled ‘potential security risks’ to Australian ‘interests’ as the reason behind the delay.
It remains to be seen whether the series will go ahead after CA’s security chief Sean Carroll holds a series of meetings with government and police officials in Bangladesh.
It is learnt Carroll was assured of ‘fool proof’ security by Bangladeshi officials and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) are more than eager to help out.
The second Test will begin at Mirpur from October 17.
Australia will play a three-day tour match against a BCB XI team at Fatullah prior to the series.
Bangladesh squad for the first Test:
