Tamim Iqbal’s briliant form continued as he guided his side towards a series victory against Pakistan (2-0). Two consecutive centuries from Iqbal and Bangladesh have sealed the series with one more game to go at the same venue as the second ODI, on Wednesday.
Pakistan were halted at 239 for six before Tamim fired in an unbeaten 116, his sixth ODI ton while wicket-keeper Mushfiqur scored 65. Bangladesh won the match with 12 overs to spare.
Bangladesh looked the better team throughout the tournament as they had Pakistan reduced to 77/5 at one stage. Haris Sohail’s 44 and an unbroken stand of 85 runs between Saad Nasim (77) and Wahab Riaz (51) helped the tourists recover to post a good target.
Bangladesh needed more after a confident display of batting in the first ODI, it was easy for them to chase down the moderate target.
