South Africa made a quick recovery after their defeat to West Indies in the 1st T20I as the proteas managed to overhaul the Windies by a margin of 16 runs to level the 5-match T20I series, 1-1.

With three matches left in the series, we are now guaranteed a nerve-wracking series as both teams have shown their tough stature. The second match once again saw the visitors bat first and set a target of 166 runs, considering the dominating chase in the 1st T20I, the target seemed relatively chasable.

Although spirited bowling efforts by Kagiso Rabada and George Linde who managed to pick up 3 and 2 wickets respectively ensured South Africa are back in the series. Can the hard-hitting Windies once again slaughter the white ball? Or will it the South Africans who score back-to-back wins and take a 2-1 lead?

Match Venue: National Cricket Stadium, St George’s, Grenada

Head to Head

Weather conditions

The conditions are quite in favor of cricket as the 20% precipitation does not possess any threat to the 40-overs. The temperature is reported to be hovering in the 31-27 degree Celsius and humidity at the peak is likely to touch the 74% mark.

Pitch report

The strip in Grenada has been in favor of the batsmen ever since its inception and the last two matches have justified the cause. Though we are yet to see a 200 plus match in the series, with the reputation of the pitch and pinch hitters on both sides we might be in for a high-scoring clash on Tuesday. The toss is not expected to play a major role as the pitch is likely to remain the same throughout the match-up.

Team News

The sides seem to be well gelled and there seems no reason to fiddle with the playing Xl. The visitors after a clinical win in the 2nd T20I will be hoping the same Xl can help them take a lead. While the Windies have Lendl Simmons and Fidel Edwards warming the bench and their wait is likely to continue at least till the result of this encounter.

Probable Playing Xl

West Indies (WI): Evin Lewis, Andre Fletcher, Chris Gayle, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Kieron Pollard (c), Andre Russell, Jason Holder, Dwayne Bravo, Fabian Allen, Obed McCoy, Kevin Sinclair

South Africa (SA): Reeza Hendricks, Quinton de Kock (wk), Temba Bavuma (c), Rassie van der Dussen, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, George Linde, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Tabraiz Shamsi, Lungi Ngidi

Must picks

Evin Lewis seems to be in great touch and he is the triumph card for West Indies in their batting division. Quinton de Kock too has shown great consistency once again although he is not able to convert his starts to big ones, we expect him to play a vital role in this encounter. Andre Russell and Reeza Hendricks are the other must-picks in the fantasy line-up.
