It's just 2 days to go for IPL 2021 to kickoff. The opening match is between defending champions Mumbai Indians and RCB on Friday and it promises a thrilling contest to set off a two-month tournament. Although it would be played indoors, fans would be hooked on to their screens to soak in all the actions live. So, Cricwizz takes a look at unique IPL stats on Number 2, with 2 days left for IPL 2021 to start.

2 times KKR have won IPL titles – 2012 and 2014 – the only team apart from Mumbai Indians and CSK to win two or more titles.

2 times RCB and CSK have scored a total of 240 or more in IPL – the only teams to do so. RCB have posted the top 2 highest scores of 263 and 248 in the history of IPL. CSK have scored 246 and 240.

2 or more times Chris Gayle and David Warner have been the orange cap holder in 13 seasons of IPL. Warner has done it thrice for SRH in 2015, 2017, and 2019. Gayle has done it twice for RCB in 2011 and 2012.

2 times each Dwayne Bravo and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have held the Purple cap. Bravo did it in 2013 and 2015 for CSK. Bhuvi did it in 2016 and 2017 for SRH. 

2 times each Shane Watson and Andre Russell won the Man of the Tournament or Most Valuable Player award – the only players to achieve this feat. Watson won the award in 2008 and 2013 for RR. Russell achieved it in 2015 and 2019 for KKR.

2 times James Faulkner and Jaydev Unadkat have taken five-wicket hauls in IPL – the only two players to achieve this feat.

2 times an innings in IPL have ended on exactly 99. The first time was when Pune Warriors could manage 99/9 against Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2013. The second time was when Delhi Capitals were bowled out for 99 against CSK in IPL 2019.

Only 2 players have played 200 or more IPL matches so far. It includes MS Dhoni with 204 matches and Rohit Sharma with 200 matches.

Only 2 captains in top 5 most capped skipper in IPL have lost more than they have won. They are Virat Kohli with 63 losses and 55 wins in 125 games. The second is Adam Gilchrist with 39 losses and 35 wins in 74 games.

2 or more times Kings XI Punjab, RCB and Mumbai Indians have won matches in IPL by just a run - the only three teams to do so. Mumbai have done it thrice, while Punjab and RCB have done it twice each.
