The stage is now set for the grand final of the Women’s T20 Challenge. The match is set to take place between the two times champions Supernovas and the Trailblazers at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday.
After the dominating 9- wicket by the Trailblazers against the Velocity on Monday, the scenario was very simple for the Supernovas, they just had to win against the Trailblazers as the net rate was in their favor. Team Velocity would be kicking themselves as they had a wonderful start to their tournament defeating the Supernovas by 5 wickets.
But the extremely poor batting performance against the Trailblazers in the second match, where they were dismissed for a mere 47 meant that the Supernovas had to lose against the Trailblazers for the Velocity to have a chance.
The two teams will take on each other once again with a days gap and though the Trailblazers ended up on the losing side against Supernovas, the team would be feeling confident as they almost chased down the score of 144. Supernovas after winning the toss elected to bat first and the brilliant knock of 67 by veteran batswomen Chamari Atapathu ensured the team reached a par score of 144.
The Trailblazers were always in the game until the last over by Radha Yadav ensured the Supernovas won the match by 2 runs and also made it to the final of the Women’s T20 Challenge 2020.
Can the Trailblazers continue their great form and win their maiden title? Or will it be a hat-trick for the Supernovas?
