We have yet another Group 1 match and this group in particular which is filled with heavyweights has been heating up with every encounter. This time the South Africans are set to lock horns with the struggling Bangladesh side at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, this Tuesday.

For the Bangladesh side, this match would just be a dead runner and a chance for them to restore pride, while for the Proteas it is everything to play for as a win here could see them cement their spot in the top two at least for the time being.

South Africa, all of a sudden looks like a team on a mission as after their loss against Australia in their first match of the tournament, they seem to have congealed well as a team. Back-to-back wins against the teams of the likes of West Indies and South Africa is likely to have boosted their confidence.

Bangladesh have been winless against the Proteas in the shortest format, playing 6 matches. Can Temba Bavuma and Co. continue the streak? Or will the Bangladeshi side spoil their party?

Team News

Quinton de Kock was back after the controversial move by the former skipper. However, his presence in the side is likely to have eased the proceedings in the side. No changes in the playing combination are expected by the proteas.

Bangladesh have been dealt with a huge blow as they will be missing their star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who has been ruled out of the tournament due to a hamstring injury. Left-arm orthodox bowler- Nasun Ahmed is likely to replace the veteran in the upcoming encounters.

Must-Picks

South African all-rounder Aiden Markram has been a great asset for them in this tournament with both the bat and ball and he along with the young all-rounder Mahedi Hasan are expected to play a crucial role in this encounter.

Wk-batsman Quinton de Kock and the Bangladeshi opener Mohammad Naim have both been in great touch and could be great picks in the fantasy line-up. If South Africa are chasing, make sure to have David Miller as well as he could prove deadly at the end with his big blows.

Prediction

Bangladesh seem to have lost the plot completely after the qualifiers. Apart from a few of the players in the line-up, the others have failed to make any impact. However, they are a side that are capable of upsetting even the best of teams and for that reason, South Africa will have a task cut out.

South Africa just seem to be in a better position especially with their batsmen doing well and the depth in their line-up. The match might be a tightly fought contest but the proteas might just hold the edge in this encounter.

Cricwizz predicts South Africa to win the match and cement their place at the second spot.
