After a 2-1 win in the ODI series the visitors, India would be looking forward to the three-match T20 series that commences on the 25th of July, their last T20 series before the ICC World T20.

Just like the ODI series, India would be looking to come out as explosively as they can and the aim for the entire squad would be to express themselves.

The hosts on the other hand have more to fight for, especially after their latest ODI win against India. This would be a perfect opportunity for the Lankan lions to claim the T20 series beating the ICC World T20 hosts.

Will India prove their supremacy over the Lankans again? Or will Sri Lanka come out stronger in this series?

Matches: 19, India: 13, Sri Lanka: 5, N/R: 1

Weather Conditions

Humidity is expected to be around 75%, with the temperature ranging around the 30°C mark. Precipitation chances are less but not zero. The game is expected to be completed without much intervention.

Pitch Report

The pitch has usually been favoring the batsmen but we may witness a change in fortunes as we move into a more explosive format. Spinners, if they manage to extract spin early, may have a nice time bowling.

Team News

Not many changes from the ODI series are expected and we may see a lot of the same faces again. Both the teams will not be making too many changes.

However, we may see some more debutants. For India, Rahul Chahar was impressive in the final ODI alongside Chetan Sakariya and the duo may feature in the first T20I as well. With Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav set to travel to England, Devdutt Padikkal is likely to make his debut.

For Sri Lanka, Wanindu Hasaranga's availability will be key and they would be hoping that Hasaranga is fit to feature.

Probable Playing XI

Sri Lanka (SL): Avishka Fernando, Minod Bhanuka (wk), Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Dhananjaya de Silva, Charith Asalanka, Dasun Shanaka (C), Wanindu Hasaranga/Praveen Jayawickrama, Chamika Karunaratne, Isuru Udana, Dushmantha Chameera, Lakshan Sandakan.

India (IND):  Prithvi Shaw/Devdutt Padikkal, Shikhar Dhawan (C), Ishan Kishan (wk), Surya Kumar Yadav, Sanju Samson Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Deepak Chahar, Rahul Chahar, Chetan Sakariya, Navdeep Saini/Bhuvaneshwar Kumar

Must Picks

Suryakumar Yadav and Shikhar Dhawan played all the ODI matches and looked good. In the T20s, we may see them expressing themselves better.

Avishka Fernando ended the series on a high, and will also be a must-pick alongside his counterpart Wanindu Hasaranga who should be fit enough to feature.
