Yet another entertaining and highly competitive ODI series comes down to a series decider. The 3-match ODI series between the proteas and Pakistan is now leveled at 1-1 and it will be all down to the third and final ODI between the two nations scheduled to take place at the SuperSport Park in Centurion, this Wednesday.

The first two matches saw a tight contest between the two sides saw a tough fight as both the matches went down the wire. The second ODI saw the hosts in the driver’s seat throughout the course of the game till Pakistan’s dashing opener- Fakhar Zaman decided to take the Proteas bowling attack on.

The 30-year-old went on to score 193 runs of 155 balls falling seven runs short of his well-deserved second double ton in ODIs. Fakhar also now holds the record for the highest individual score while chasing in an ODI, beating the former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson record of 185* vs Bangladesh, back in 2011.

With both the teams battling it out on the field. The decider promises to be a rip-roaring contest for the spectators.

Pro-Tip

In the last two matches, it is to be noted that spinners have been having a tough time as out of the 28 wickets to fall in the last two encounters only one wicket has been claimed by a spinner. This does serve as a valid reason to keep the spinners away from your fantasy picks.

Weather Report

The conditions are not in favor of the sport as rain is expected to interrupt play at regular intervals. The temperature is expected to be hovering in the 21-12 degree Celsius and the humidity at the peak is anticipated to touch the 75 percent mark.

Pitch

The teams are back to the SuperSport Park in Centurion once again. The previous encounter between the sides suggests that the pitch is ideal for batting and we might be looking at a score in excess of 280 by the team batting first. The spinners will once again have a hard time and the toss is not expected to have any impact on the course of the game.

Team News

South Africa have not reported any injuries and for that reason, they are likely to feature the same playing combination as of the second ODI as the team looks well balanced.

Pakistan on the other side were dealt with a huge blow with the injury of their key all-rounder Shadab Khan, who was injured during the first ODI. The toe injury is reported to keep the 22-year old out of action for at least four weeks. He is likely to be replaced by all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz.
