The second of three Test matches between India and South Africa takes place at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg starting tomorrow. India leads the series by a 1-0 margin courtesy of their 113 run victory and will be looking to wrap things up in the second Test.

First Test at SuperSport Park in Centurion saw us witness a tense battle between bat and ball. The pacers dominated play in the first Test, while also KL Rahul stood out with a fine 123 in the first innings.

Kohli's team has a great opportunity to continue their domination on away grounds by winning the second game. South Africa will be without Quinton de Kock due to his sudden retirement from the format, which will further complicate matters. The South African team will need to play at the top of their game in order to keep the series alive.

Can Kohli and Co continue their dominance in Test cricket? Or will new heroes rise for this South African team?

Weather Conditions

The temperature in Johannesburg is expected to range between 14 and 26 degrees Celsius on day one of the Test, with the same temperatures expected for the remaining four days. With a high percentage chance of rain predicted over the next five days and we might witness rain interruptions during the course of the match.

Pitch

At Wanderers, the pitch is always lively with an additional bounce off the surface available for the bowler. The pacers will continue to be a major factor and will have a major say in the result of the match. A batsman must stay alert on this surface and take their time before they try and score runs.

Team News

Quinton De Kock’s sudden retirement from the red ball format of the game must have come as a shock to the cricket community as a whole. Kyle Verreynne is expected to don the gloves as a replacement for De Kock. With the bowlers impressing in the first match, the batsmen will also be keen to pull up their socks and keep the runs flowing.

With a dominant performance that broke records in the first match, the Indian camp will not be looking forward to making much changes. The Indian middle-order is an area of concern, with the top order and bowlers performing well. If changes are to be rung, the middle-order batsmen will be the ones to make room for.
