Rajasthan Royals’ all-rounder Rahul Tewatia came in the news recently for his scintillating knock and said that playing alongside three India spinners in domestic cricket helped him to master in his ability as well.

He was seen struggling for a better start against Kings XI Punjab but later on, he smashed five sixes in an over and sealed the deal in their record run chase in the history of Indian Premier League. His all sixes came in the over off Sheldon Cottrell.

"I play for Haryana and made my Ranji Trophy debut in 2013-14. I played a lot in Lahli (in Rohtak) which favors medium pacers. The presence of three India international spinners in our team helped me a lot over the years," Tewatia said in the press conference.

While Yuzvendra Chahal is one of the key players for India in limited-overs formats now, Tewatia has played with Amit Mishra and Jayant Yadav too – who featured for India as well. However, his struggle in the middle put the pressure on his batting partner at the other end - Sanju Samson who has also tried his best in the middle overs and registered another half-century in IPL this season.

However, at the other end, Rahul Tewatia was waiting for that one good hit to get back in the zone and he showed his class to the world later on.  From 17 off 23 balls, Tewatia ended up scoring 53 off 31.

"When I was not able to hit, I was under pressure, but Sanju told me that it's a matter of one hit and I was waiting for that one hit. I had the confidence that once I start hitting, I would be able to pull it off. I was looking for a game-changing over to close in on the target,” he concluded.
